Quick and easily Instant Pot shredded beef recipe with simple ingredients. It is Juicy and tender beef that will make your mouth water it is fall-apart tender. Use in tacos, burritos or even all on its own with a fried egg on top. The use of multipurpose beef makes meal preparation very simple because it can be incorporated into so many recipes. It also freezes very well and my family loves it just as much reheated for another quick dinner although I never get to freeze ours at it gets eaten straight away because it’s so delicious.
Instant pot shredded beef is so easy and these are the steps:
Simple 5 ingredient Mexican shredded beef with Blade or Chuck roast
I love this recipe because it’s so simple Just with 5 ingredients. A roast, even if it’s a frozen roast, thaw it out and use it in the simple fast recipe you could also use beef stew meat just really anything that you have on hand. Next a chopped yellow onion a package of “taco seasoning” Oldelpaso slow cooker Barbaboa spice, Red tomato Enchilada seasoning sauce, apple cider vinegar. Cook for 90 minutes on high pressure and about an extra 15 minutes to pressure release naturally.
Then you will shred beef and fill your Corn tortillas or flour tortillas topped with shredded cheese and black beans and rice your favourite salsa and sour cream if you wish. This is a great fast supper especially if you have a busy family like me and need a quick dinner this is a really delicious shredded beef.
Chop your Blade or Chuck Roast

First, you need to trim any fat that you see on the roast and discard the fat or give it to your dog. They will love you forever! Place the chopped beef inside your instant pot. This is going to make the most amazing instant pot shredded beef.
Chop onion

Chop your onion and add it to your instant pot. You don’t have to chop too small as it will cook down. This gives the shredded beef even extra flavour.

Next, add some enchilada sauce to your instant pot Sometimes you have to cheat a little and buy premade sauces these two combined make a beautiful beef broth that will make your blade or chuck roast into a delicious Mexican shredded beef.

Next, you will add a couple of tablespoons of Apple Cider vinegar to your instant pot. This will help infuse the meat to make delicious shredded beef. Then cover it with your instant pot lid.
Seal your Instant Pot
It’s so important that you make sure and move your pressure release knob to the seal position on your instant pot this will ensure for not only a proper seal but you won’t have steam blazing out of the top of the lid either. Once your pressure cooker is done it will display an L and start counting the minutes in which is keeping warm or a natural release I leave mine in this position until I remember to open it! usually about 20 minutes then I release the pressure knob to venting mode and take the lid off. After taking your lid off you will have a beautiful aroma of the cooked chuck roast.
Beef Broth from Instant pot shredded beef

Once you take the lid off of the pressure cooker on your instant pot you will see this delicious chuck roast in the cooking liquid. At this point and time, I like to strain my beef but you can reserve the cooking liquid if you like.
You can soon eat this shredded beef I usually can’t wait and have to indulge as soon as I open the lid.
Mexican Shredded Beef

Now you have some Mexican shredded beef that you can put in a burrito or even on its own. I like to make this recipe sometimes for my husband who just likes protein and I put a fried egg on top and for a little more kick a touch of hot sauce. This is a really great instant pot recipe that is so fast when you use the pressure cook function.
Leftover Instant Pot shredded beef can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days but I can guarantee it won’t last that long.

Ingredients
1 or 2 Blade or Chuck Roast/stew meat
1 medium to large size yellow onion chopped
OLDELPASO “Barbacoa” seasoning mix
Red Enchilada Sauce
2 Tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar.
Directions
- Chop Roast and take off any extra fat and discard then throw into Instant Pot
- Chop onion and then throw into the instant pot
- open OLDELPASO seasoning mix and add to instant pot with the Red Enchilada Sauce.
- Add into the instant pot 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider vinegar
- Close the lid on the instant pot and make sure that the pressure release knob is set to seal position on the instant pot.
- Use pressure cooker mode on your instant pot
- Set Timer for the shredded beef for 80 minutes
- Once your pressure cooker is done it will display an L and you can now let your shredded beef naturally release for about 15- 20 minutes.
- Next, open the instant pot lid and take out the pressure cooker shredded beef and strain. you can save the beef broth if you wish but I just discard mine.
- Continue with two forks going in and then out to create your shredded beef.
- It’s now time to add to make a burrito add it into flour tortillas with rice and shredded cheese or whatever you wish to add the ideas are endless.
